DESCRIPTION
The Tree House Sculpture studio is a small one man opperation located in my family's barn next to the house I grew up in. And right next to the barn I work in is the tree house I built with my father as a kid, that is where the name for my studio comes from. I studied Metalsmithing and jewelry making at RIT's school for american crafts and recieved my BFA in 2004, during my time at school I decided sitting at a jewelers bench was too tedious and boring so I went bigger with my work. I now focus on creating sculpture, furniture and household items using traditional metalsmithing and welding techniques, but it is the incorporation of many different materials that gives my work it's non-traditional craft asthetic. I like to vary materials and techniques to keep myself thinking. Welding all day everyday gets dirty and hot, so I change things up with woodworking, coppersmithing, glass casting, stone cutting, I like to add in a little bit of everything. This variation in my methods and materials keeps me entertained and keeps my work looking fresh and new. I also create limited production runs of home accessories ranging from bud vases up to large standing lamps and wall hanging sculptures. If your looking for something fresh and new for your house that melds contemprary and traditional asthetics in an elegant and very distinctive way, than look no further you've found the perfect studio to do your designing.
