DESCRIPTION
Flying Shuttles is a non-profit studio that provides artistic and technical training to adults with developmental disabilities. Since 1984, the artists there have specialized in weaving hand-woven rag-style rugs and original art work. Flying Shuttles is renowned in Rhode Island for its whimsical, eclectic art selection. In 2006, the Studio was chosen as the 'Best Craft with a Conscience' in the Providence Phoenix. The studio is currently supporting the creative abilities of 26 artists in the historic arts district of Downtown Pawtucket.
