DESCRIPTION
In 1983 Brian Boggs began making a set of six chairs for his wife and family. In the years that followed Brian has created a workshop that is home to four skilled craftspeople, and has delivered over 2000 individually handcrafted chairs and tables. His professional journey has included forays into tool building, machine design, environmentally sustainable forestry, teaching, and lecturing that have been well documented in the woodworking press. Even with all of these facets of Brian's career his original intent has not changed: to create fine chairs and tables that his own family would cherish and honor for generations.

"In an effort to understand early Appalachian chairmaking, I have sought to discover everything the wood has to teach me. This focus has led to numerous new and ever evolving designs, not only in the chairs but also in my tools and processes, thus keeping alive a tradition of Appalachian chairmaking as well as a commitment to excellence."
